Joel Flake
Joel's entrepreneur story:
Joel moved back to Idaho following his graduation from the University of Michigan Law School in 2002. Following his federal clerkship with the Hon. Larry M. Boyle, Joel worked as an attorney for the law firm of Moffatt Thomas in Boise, Idaho.
In 2006, Joel co-founded Gemtek Pest Control, Inc. in Boise, Idaho, and over the next 10 years grew its annual revenue from $0 to $3,500,000. During that time, Joel also founded a pest control owners' peer review group ("The Summit") representing in excess of $50,000,000 in annual pest control revenue from various companies located in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arizona, Idaho, North Carolina, Colorado, Missouri, Arkansas, Utah, Washington, and Oregon.
In 2013, Joel co-founded Gemtek Homekeeping, Inc., a Boise residential and commercial cleaning company, and in 2015 acquired Custom Bedbug, Inc., a northwest regional heat remediation bed bug company.
In 2016, Joel sold Gemtek Pest Control to a global pest control conglomerate--at a significant multiple over historical industry standards. Earlier that same year, Joel had also sold his interests in Custom Bedbug, Inc. to a business partner… and just last month, he sold Gemtek Homekeeping, Inc. to a local buyer.
Since that time, Joel has recently acquired Midwest Pest Control, Inc., with offices located in Little Rock, Arkansas and Springfield, Missouri. Further, he has also recently founded Pest Secure, Inc., in Las Vegas, Nevada.
